Dunamis Table

A dignity-first restoration model for people experiencing homelessness.

Hospitality as the First Intervention

Dunamis Table starts with a simple but radical idea: what if the first thing we offered someone experiencing homelessness was not a handout, but a seat at the table? Guests are welcomed warmly, given a menu, seated, and served a home-cooked meal with care and respect. That moment of being chosen, welcomed, and served with dignity is not small. It is the beginning of restoration.

More Than a Meal

From that first moment of dignity, the table becomes a place where trust can form, stories can be heard, and practical next steps can begin. Dunamis Table connects guests to housing support, employment pathways, healing resources, and the kind of human relationship that reminds someone they still matter.

The Long-Term Dream

The permanent vision for Dunamis Table is a full restaurant-based restoration model with a transitional living component for those ready to move forward. A place where the community eats alongside those rebuilding. Where dignity is not charity but culture. Where no one is invisible.

Why Dunamis?

Dunamis is a Greek word meaning power, strength, and miraculous ability. It is the same word used in Acts 1:8 — "you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you." Dunamis Table is built on the belief that every person carries that kind of power inside of them. Sometimes they just need a table, a meal, and someone willing to see it first.

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor." — Luke 4:18
